Now here is a great ball cleaner although it is actually a restorer.  You put a little (very little) on a towel or soft cloth and clean the balls with it. It also works perfectly in ball cleaning machines.  It's important to shake it well. It restores the ball back to new without leaving a residue of any kind.  It contains no wax or silicones, it simply restores the ball to it's original lustre and cleanliness. It was developed by Allen Gilbert to insure ball "integrity" and a clean break for three cushion play.  Of course, it works perfectly on pool balls as well, keeping them clean and "new " for many years. And a little goes a long way, so it's an inexpensive way to preserve your balls and keep them "breaking clean." And having clean balls means a lot, you need a clean and consistent break between cue ball and object ball to ensure that good hits stay just that, good hits. So often when the balls are not clean, the object ball and cue ball don't separate properly and that's when you hang that down the rail shot, or the cue ball doesn't take that subtle spin off the rail and give you that pinpoint position that you should have gotten.
